Pete Salsich III is an intellectual property litigator with a diverse practice involving entertainment and creative rights protection, including copyright and trademark litigation, licensing and royalty disputes, trade secrets, unfair competition, defamation, and rights of publicity and privacy. He obtained a defense verdict for a major toy company in a long-running Right of Publicity/First Amendment case in Missouri involving hockey players and comic books, and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the category of Entertainment Law. He clerked for Hon. Paul Kelly of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and before practicing law, he was an accomplished illustrator who created, among other things, the Billiken mascot for the St. Louis University Athletic Department.
Geoff Gerber regularly counsels and represents clients in copyright, trademark, patent, trade secrets, right of publicity, and other areas of intellectual property litigation. Frequently part of lawsuits in which the ability to either access or leverage intellectual property determines the success or failure of his clients’ businesses, he focuses his practice on complex, multi-party, civil litigation involving injunctive relief and appellate considerations. Gerber’s behind-the-scenes perspective is informed by federal-court clerkships at both the trial and appellate level.
Gary Pierson specializes in the area of intellectual property litigation, with a particular focus on trademark, copyright and domain name matters. He also assists clients with international and domestic trademark prosecution matters, advertising and marketing questions and licensing and technology transfer agreements. He is an adjunct professor at St. Louis University School of Law, where he teaches a course on copyright issues in the music industry, and he is a regular speaker on trademark and copyright issues effecting the entertainment and arts communities.
